We got state-constitutional amendments to vote on coming November 6th, with early voting starting on October 22nd!
Please vote accordingly!
Amendment No.1
Vote Either
Doesn't really affect anything. Just clarifies that Angelo State University will continue to receive funds during it's transfer into Texas Tech.
Amendment No.2
Vote No -
This bill wants to force Texans to loan MORE money to students, putting yet MORE Texas funds at risk of loan default, when there are more than a sufficient amount of non-government lenders who can provide this service without putting Texas funds at risk.
Amendment No.3
Vote Yes -
Clarifies property tax law so that, when increased, they don't increase more than 10%, and once they've been increased by up to 10%, they can't be increased again for at least a year.
Amendment No.4
Vote No -
More government waste of the money that it forcefully appropriates from us; mainly for things like Park maintenance, which should already be taken care of by Park Officials ( they are getting paid ) and student volunteers and voluntary donations, as well as a host of other things which can be taken care of similarly.
Amendment No.5 -
Vote No -
More government subsidization that will have negative unintended consequences on the Texas economy in the long run; it forces Texans to pay certain property owners to make their property look pretty.
Amendment No.6
Vote Yes -
Brings Texans one step closer to truly owning their property by exempting some of their vehicles from property taxes; among other things.
Amendment No.7
Vote Yes -
A small justice for Texas victims of Eminent Domain - if the property that the State forced them to sell isn't being used, the State has to sell it back to them at the same price that it bought it at, making up for the loss of marketability that the owner suffered.
Amendment No.8
Vote No -
This bill is a mess. It's primarily about regulating home equity loans, but it doesn't really fix the problems it's intended for, it needs to be scrapped and re-written.
Amendment No.9
Vote Yes -
Veterans who are 100% disabled, from serving our country, should be 100% exempt from property taxes - PERIOD. Any heartless bureaucrat who argues otherwise should be hung.
Amendment No.10
Vote Yes -
The elimination of a worthless government office - "the inspector of hides and animals".
Amendment No.11
Vote No -
Requires that a record vote be taken at final passage of a bill, which is pointless since they do it anyway; not to mention it "grant(s) an exception to the record vote requirement on final passage of local bills" which are what have noticeable affects on Texans, making it pretty useless.
Amendment No.12
Vote No -
This authorizes putting Texans in even MORE debt to help fund the Texas Transportation Commission - a money-hungry bureaucracy that should make do with what it has instead of leeching more funds from the Texas People.
Amendment No.13
Vote Either -
If you post bail, but violate the terms of that bail, your bail gets revoked and you go to the slammer. Problem is that our jails are filled to the brim as it is.
Amendment No.14
Vote Either -
Do you want a judge to be able to finish out his term even if he has reached the max age of 75 ( Vote Yes ), or do you want to interrupt a judges term by making him retire when he's supposed to ( Vote No )?
Amendment No.15
Vote No -
The "Cancer Tax", if authorized this will force Texans into a debt of $3Billion + $1.6Billion in interest for a total of $4.6Billion. There are far better and far more effective ways to fund Cancer research, like going here: www.mdanderson.org/about_mda/giving/ or by contacting the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center by calling (713) 792-3450 or 800-525-5841 or

and making a VOLUNTARY donation. Otherwise, this “Cancer Tax” will more than likely be used by bureaucrats as a scheme to funnel money to their friends in the form of "grants to provide funds to public or private persons to implement the Texas Cancer Plan" (emphasis added)
Amendment No.16
Vote No -
Another government subsidy that will force Texans to pay people for living in substandard areas with no previously built infrastructure ( water systems et al. ), ultimately incentivizing people to move to said substandard areas. How about this instead: exempt them from property taxes instead, while it may still incentivize people to move to those, it will cost the rest of the Texas People NOTHING.
